Movies & Magazines

Did you know your library is better than Netflix? Library card holders can check out up to seven DVDs for seven days, and it's free! If it's celebrity gossip, decorating advice, recipes, or music news you're seeking, be sure to visit the periodicals section where you can flip through the latest issues and check out past issues.

Coffee at the Library

Now you can read and relax in the library with a fresh cup of coffee! The Ashe Friends of the Library sell coffee, hot tea, cider, and hot chocolate for $1.25 per cup, and the proceeds help to support library programming.

StoryWalk

StoryWalks take the joy of reading outdoors! Experience a story as you take a stroll or explore a park. Each story board also contains literacy tips for caregivers. See a story walk in action at Ashe County Park.

Ashe Seed Library

This partnership between Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture (BRWIA), Ashe County Cooperative Extension, and Ashe County Public Library seeks to make free seed available to Ashe County residents for the purposes of promoting food security, building community resilience, and creating a culture of sharing. To learn more about this project, visit the upper level of the library. The Seed Library will reopen for the 2023 growing season in early April.
