On Wednesday, October 2, at 5:30 p.m., the library will host a NAMI Family Support Group for adults who have a loved one experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition. This peer-led group offers a safe and confidential space for family members and caregivers to share, listen, and find strength together.
On Wednesday, October 16, from 6:00–8:00 p.m., the library will hold a Community Listening Session on Addiction and Recovery. Neighbors are invited to bring their experiences, questions, and concerns. The session provides an opportunity to share how addiction has touched families, workplaces, and daily life, while engaging directly with local leaders, first responders, judicial representatives, and clergy. This event is hosted in partnership with Project Lazarus, Recovery Revolution, and Wilkes County Health Foundation.
On Friday, October 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the library will host a NAMI Connections Peer Support Group for adults living with mental health conditions. Led by trained peers, the group provides encouragement, understanding, and the chance to connect with others who have similar lived experiences.
Together, these programs highlight the library’s role as a community gathering place where hope, healing, and meaningful conversations can grow. For more details, Suzanne Manners, County Librarian (336.838.2818 x241) or Phillip Boyce, NAMI Affiliate (704.400.5181)
